This research seeks to understand the revival of realism in contemporary cinema, taking as a key point to recall the real done in two ways: one through the trauma elucidated by Hal Foster based on the visual arts and the other by means of “the banal sublime” exposed by Denilson Lopes. To this end, the films were discussed Caché and The White Ribbon, director Michael Haneke in order to explain the real trauma, Antichrist of Lars Von Trier for the case of the real in abject and, finally, in the brazilian scene, the film Mutum of Sandra Kogut in relation to “the banal sublime.” Looking thus understand the aesthetic elements of the contemporary cinematic realism.Esta investigación busca entender el renacimiento del realismo en el cine contempor...
